Spaces

From time-honoured rituals to modern restorative practices, every detail is intentionally designed – with you at the heart. Connect in shared spaces or retreat into the calm of something more private. This is your space to reset, reconnect, and restore.

Traditional Sauna

This is the heart of Löyly Recovery. We have designed one of Perth’s largest communal Finnish saunas, purposefully designed to host traditional ‘aufguss’ rituals that excite the senses and provide a new experience to Perth.

Private Recovery Room

For those seeking a more intimate escape away from our communal spaces, our private sauna and ice bath recovery room caters perfectly for solo hire or up to three friends.

Group Wellness

Join a group class, attend an event, hire me or drop in for a moment of mindful movement. Our group space is created to be able to offer you more beyond recovery.

Plunge Pools

Immerse yourself in the restorative embrace of our hot (36c) and cold (8c) plunge pools, infused with magnesium to soothe sore muscles, enhance nerve function, and alleviate inflammation and so much more.

Recovery Lounge

Your space to pause, exhale, and linger a little longer. Sip on a calming herbal tea or reenergise with a perfectly brewed coffee. Engage in heartfelt conversations, forge new connections, or lose yourself in the pages of a book.

Physio + Massage

Individual physiotherapy or massage therapy appointments are available from private rooms within our centre. These services are delivered by experienced contractors working alongside Löyly to support you.

Thongs or sandals
You are welcome to bring comfortable slip-on shoes for easy movement between areas and to maintain hygiene.

Pronounced Louu-lou, originally this word also meant spirit or life but these days, löyly has come to mean specifically, sauna steam. A cloud of steam. Löyly is the envelope of heat and steam that surrounds you in the sauna as water is poured on the hot rocks.

We have opted for a traditional Finnish sauna. We like it HOT (around 90 degrees) and love the instant heat and ability to introduce a burst of steam with a ladle of water over the hot rocks. We believe this is the best way to experience the true ‘löyly’.

The main distinctions between conventional or traditional saunas and infrared saunas stem from differences in their heating methods and temperatures. Infrared saunas are characterised by a milder heat that is radiated to the body at a lower temperature. In contrast, classic or traditional saunas utilise steam or dry heat to warm up the room and produce a more intense heat.

The recommended duration for a sauna session is typically 10 to 15 minutes. However, the optimal time can vary depending on personal preferences.

A common protocol for contrast therapy is 2-3 minutes in an ice bath followed by 15 minutes in a sauna, repeated 2-3 rounds. But listen to your body – it always knows best.

We offer a range of classes, from uplifting and energising sessions to calming and restorative practices, including yoga, pilates, meditation, sound healing and group exercises. Our large class space is also available for private hire.

Yes, additional services, including private physiotherapy and massage therapy, are also located within our centre.

Yes, of course. Our flexible FIFO memberships can be customised to suit your swing. If this is something you are interested in, please send us a message.

Our two plunge pools are designed for 6 people at a time, with our communal sauna easily fitting 16 people on the top benches alone. Sessions are capped (at 12 per hour) so that the facilities are never crowded and you can enjoy every space.

As part of your admission, you have access to two recovery lounge areas.  There is no time limit, so feel free to stay a while. Our larger wellness space is open for private events and classes, so will occasionally be closed. Our smaller lounge will always be available and includes complimentary refreshments. We will regularly update our events calendar so you can check the room availability against your preferred visiting times.
